Our hygienist, Candy, has worked as a clinical hygienist for over 30 years. She began working with Dr. Burket in 2002, when he moved his practice to Bend. Candy attended the University of Oregon studying Community Health/Health Education. She then transferred to Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon where she received an Associates of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1977.
In addition, she is a State of Oregon Regional Dental Health Consultant of Central and Southern Oregon Counties. She works with public schools that choose to participate in the King Fluoride Program. She spends countless hours teaching Dental Education in the classroom setting. Candy is an active member of OROHC, (Oregon Oral Health Commission) where she works to bring Dental Partners together through active Oral Health Coalitions in her designated counties. She works to ensure accessibility and optimum dental health treatment for all citizens of Oregon. She co-chairs the committee associated with Oregon School-Based Dental Health Issues and Education. In addition, she organizes and administers sealant programs in association with Northwest Medical Teams and Volunteers in Medicine in rural Eastern Oregon counties.
Candy has two grown sons, Jeff and Cole, who live and work in Bend. She loves the Oregon Ducks and attending as many football games as possible! Her hobbies include camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, and family activities.
Candy is a vital part of our dental practice. Her experience and quality work are second to none!
Misty is our resident Certified Dental Assistant (EFDA) who Dr.Burket trained to be a Medical Assistant when she started working for him. She has 9 years of experience in the dental field and is extremely good at what she does. It goes without saying that Misty is a great Medical Assistant too! She loves seeing all the babies, and loves the obstetrics portion of Dr. Burket's practice. Misty shows up everyday with a positive attitude and bright personality. She truly makes everyone laugh constantly!
Misty and her husband, Michael, are both Central Oregon natives. They have an adorable son, Easton, and are excited to expand their family in the near future. They enjoy the outdoors, hunting, and spending time with their families.
Wendy joined us in 2008. Although she worked for many years as a Scheduling Coordinator for large medical clinic, she is now enjoying the challenge of being a Medical Assistant and Dental Assistant for Dr. Burket.
Wendy and her husband, Chuck, share their lives with two amazing boys who keep them running! Treycer and Trevyn are their pride and joy.
Wendy was born in Bend and spent most of her life here, although she graduated from High School in Bandon; a small town on the Oregon Coast.
Being a native Oregonian, Wendy truly loves the outdoors and enjoys camping, boating, and spending time with her husband and sons.
